1、Introduction of the Zone

Wuhan Chemical Industrial Zone (WCIZ) is a young functional zone in Wuhan, an important part of the city's four major industrial plates, a larger petrochemical industry base in the central region. Wuhan Chemical Industrial Zone is located in the northeastern part of the main city of Wuhan, adjacent to the Yangtze River to the east north, connected to the East Lake Hi-tech Zone to the south, to the Qingshan District to the west, which is in the downstream area of the Wuhan section of the Yangtze River. The planned area of the district is 71.64 square kilometers, with a developed area of 11 square kilometers a population of 65,000 people.

2、Leading Industries

Wuhan Chemical Industrial Zone has formed an industrial system of “one core, four chains three clusters”. With 800,000 tons of ethylene as the core, it has established four industrial chains of carbon penta, carbon 9, ethylene oxide aromatics, initially formed three industrial clusters of petrochemical industry, chemical logistics new materials.

3、Entrepreneurs

At present, there are 316 existing enterprises in the zone, a number of international domestic famous enterprises have been introduced, such as SK of South Korea, Sinopec, China Resources of Hong Kong, Suez of France, Hengyang of Singapore, Linuo Group, Shandong Luhua, Liaoning Aoke, Changfei Optical Fiber so on. By the end of 2014, the cumulative fixed asset investment in the region amounted to 50.6 billion yuan.
